Social media is kind of an overbearing presence in our world today, which means most people would probably rather check Twitter or Instagram before opening up the latest book. However, more and more celebrities, including Emma Watson, Emma Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, and Sarah Jessica Parker, are showing their love of all things lit via their social media and book clubs. To give you a bit of bookspiration for your own personal library, or if you just want to be nosy and see what’s on these star’s bookshelves, keep scrolling!
1. Sarah Jessica Parker
Parker is partnering with the National Library Association this year, launched her own literary imprint through Penguin Random House, SJP for Hogarth, in 2016 and she has always been vocal about her love of books.
“I have always loved to read for the same reason I love to act, which is that other people’s stories are more interesting to me than my own.”
2. Catherine Zeta Jones
The Chicago and Ocean’s Twelve actress is also an avid bookworm. Her personal library has a very sophisticated and classic vibe.
3. Lena Dunham
Dunham is one of the stars of the HBO show Girls and is an advocate for women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and feminism. Also an established author, Dunham has written two books to date: Not That Kind of Girl and Is it Evil Not to be Sure?
4. Uzo Aduba
Aduba stars as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on Netflix’s Orange is The New Black and often shares what she’s reading to her Instagram followers. In the pic below, she’s reading Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist.
5. Reese Witherspoon
Reese started up her book club, simply called Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, months back, and it’s still going strong! While she hasn’t shared a direct picture of her bookshelf, she does share pictures of the books she’s reading on her book club’s Instagram. You can check out more details about the actress’ book club here as well as see what she’s reading via her book club’s Instagram.
