1. The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
This children’s story was originally published in June of 1908 and features a stunning quote that describes the essence of spring perfectly:
“Spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below and around him, penetrating even his dark and lowly little house with its spirit of divine discontent and longing. … Something up above was calling him.”

I know what you’re probably thinking: “Why is a book with ‘winter’ in the title being mentioned on a spring book list?” Well, fellow book lovers, your confusion will seamlessly melt away after reading through this lovely quote:
