What To Read This Month: 12 New Releases For November 2016

2016 is slipping away from our fingertips quicker than we ever imagined! And while this November will certainly be one that will remain etched in the minds of millions of people, there are also quite a number of new books hitting shelves this cozy, fall month. 1. The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon

Nicola Yoon rapidly took the YA world by storm with her first novel, Everything Everything (check out our review, here). Now, with the release of her second novel, The Sun Is Also A Star, (check out our review, here), she has earned a favorite author medal in the hearts of bookworms around the globe. The Sun Is Also A Star follows the relationship and connection of two teenagers, one Jamaican American and the other Asian American, as they have to deal with the heartbreak of possible deportation as well as the unexpectedness of falling in love. This one hit shelves November 1st.

2. Heartless by Marissa Meyer

One of the most anticipated book releases of November, Heartless follows the life of Alice in Wonderland‘s Queen of Hearts before she was the most feared Queen in all of Wonderland. Heartless hit shelves November 8th.

3. The Fate of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #3) by Erika Johansen

The third novel in The Queen of the Tearling series, The Fate of the Tearling continues on with the journey of Kelsea Glynn as she has transitions into possibly leading the monarchy. Catch up with the first two books:

4. Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick

Funny lady Anna Kendrick’s memoir has finally arrived, cover and all! If you’re a fan of hers or just want to learn more about the young woman behind the colorful tweets from Twitter, Scrappy Little Nobody deserves a home on your bookshelf. Catch it in stores November 15th.

5.  A Million Worlds with You (Firebird, #3) by Claudia Gray

6. The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer

We’ve been waiting a while for Stephenie Meyer to release a fresh story and The Chemist has finally arrived! This science fiction thriller follows an ex-agent who, in order to clear her name and ultimately save her life, must take on another secret and potentially dangerous case. This one hit booksellers everywhere November 8th.

7. Swing Time by Zadie Smith

Swing Time follows two aspiring brown dancers and their friendship from childhood through adulthood. This novel is a deep celebration of music, culture, and friendship and would be a phenomenal one to read with your best friend. Catch Swing Time on shelves November 15th.

8. Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between by Lauren Graham

Fans of Gilmore Girls everywhere will probably be on the lookout for this one. In her memoir, actress Lauren Graham talks about the in’s and out’s of life, being an actress on a successful T.V. show, and, just as the title suggests, everything else in between. 9. Fire in You (Wait for You, #6) by J. Lynn

The sixth book in the Wait for You series by J. Lynn (a.k.a. Jennifer L. Armentrout) follows two emotionally broken people who, along the path of falling in love, learn about the prominence of hope and second chances. This romantic novel hits shelves November 28th.

10. Faithful by Alice Hoffman

Faithful is the newest novel by bestselling author Alice Hoffman, author of The Marriage of Opposites and The Museum of Extraordinary Things, and follows the story of a young woman named Shelby Richmond who’s life in Long Island, New York is just about as ordinary as can be. That is, until her best friend’s life is devastatingly changed forever. 11. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling

Hitting shelves November 18th, the screenplay for the movie version of J.K. Rowling’s novel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will finally be in reader’s hands. The story follows a young man and his adventures and misadventures with the fun, though sometimes chaotic world of magic.

12. Victoria by Daisy Goodwin

This historical fiction novel surrounds the real life of the young Queen Alexandrina Victoria who, in only a month after turning 18, was made Queen of Ireland and Great Britain. Goodin also wrote and created the PBS television show of the same name and this novel would be a perfect companion to the drama. Victoria hits bookstores on November 22nd and the show premieres on PBS in 2017.
