5 Librarian Blogs You Should Be Following

When I was younger, the people I most admired were librarians. They seemed like they knew everything in the entire universe. As I’ve gotten older, that hasn’t changed at all. While I may not get the chance to go to the library every day, checking in with these librarian bloggers gives me my library fix when I’m short on time.

1. Awful Library Books

Holly Hibner and Mary Kelly are the hilarious librarians behind Awful Library Books. Their blog posts the strangest, most outdated, and offensive library books that they and other librarians have decided to “weed” from their library’s collection.

2. Librarian Wardrobe

Ever wanted to steal some librarian style? Librarian Wardrobe is a Tumblr where librarians submit what they wear to work—sometimes breaking, and sometimes embracing the stereotype.

3. Letters to a Young Librarian

Jessica Olin runs this informative blog where experienced librarians give advice to those who are new in the field. If you’re thinking about getting your MLS, just graduated with a library sciences degree, or are just curious about the inner workings of a library, this blog is a must-read.
