Hosseini has regarded this novel as a “mother-daughter story” that evolves around two girls born in different generations who were brought together by war. The storyline depicts the  hardship and suffering the girl’s endure during a time where every person has to fight and protect each other to stay alive.

The amazing thing is the author’s ability to craft each word and set it as a masterpiece. Readers are definitely able to feel every emotion, be it happy, sad, death or loss, and tremendous relief. Each chapter unravels the life and emotions of each character in the book. Although it may seem tough at first to keep track of all the names and jargons but its definitely worth the patience.

It’s a great feeling, to know that a lot of things can be used to describe an object or a situation. This just goes to show, how much power words have over us and the ability to write descriptively is just pure talent and passion.

This book was definitely an un-put-downable book as it got me hooked for hours. It’s good to know that such books like this are out there to inspire and recreate a reader’s world.

Tell us what you think about this book! Was it worth the read? If it was, be sure to grab yourself the other two  masterpieces by Hosseini, The Kite Runner and And The Mountains Echoed‘.
