Texas’s Department of Criminal Justice is preventing inmates from receiving reading material. Dan Slater, author of the book ‘Wolf Boys: Two American Teenagers and Mexico’s Most Dangerous Drug Cartel’ tried to send in copy of his book to Gabriel Cardona. Slater featured Cardona is his book, but regardless Cardona couldn’t receive his copy. The state’s Department of Criminal Justice said the book wasn’t appropriate reading material for a prisoner. That may seem fair, but they have already banned 15,000 more books.
