Let’s Take This Outside: 6 Ways To Bring Books Outdoors

As the weather warms up and we all emerge from winter hibernation, we want to spend more time outside in the fresh air. For book lovers, taking our books to the “great outdoors” doesn’t have to mean just going outside with a book in hand. We can bring our love of books out with us, so we feel just as comfortable as being wrapped in a blanket in a room surrounded by our beloved books.

1. Book Rocks

If you have a garden or some sort of path, you could paint rocks and put your favorite book quotes or titles on them.

If you have a garden, it might be fun to have a rock with a quote from The Secret Garden, when Mary asks, “Might I have a bit of earth?” How cute would that be?

2. Book Planters

If you find books that you don’t mind cutting up and getting dirty, you could make book planters. If you have more of a brown thumb than a green one, like me, you could put succulents in the book planter to help avoid killing them.

3. Fictional Location Post

Your yard could be the crossroads between all the fictional worlds you know and love with this creative sign. And the best part is that you can use wood scraps, and it’s okay if they are not the same size or perfectly cut.

6. Hammock

Of course, you could simply take a book outside and lounge while you read. Sway in a hammock in the warm breeze, hear birds sing, and feel the warm sun for the first time in months while you enjoy a an amazing story. Life can’t get any better than that, can it?
